Hi, Hello, and Good Morning!
How was your weekend? Mine was good, but tiring! …Thank goodness it’s MIMM!
Friday I had an incredible studio visit from a faculty member and professional artist from Cooper Union. He was so kind, direct and made me feel confident and at ease when I was talking about my work. After the studio visit, I rushed to Union Square to meet a friend and her mom for lunch at The Rubin Museum. It is such a stunning space and served up a flavourful lunch of seared salmon, roasted red rice and a thick mulligatawny soup. After lunch, I window shopped then met a new blend (blogger friend)…Ashley, from Freckles and Spice introduced me to Yoga Vida and we sweated and stretched until 5:15 in a Flow class. After class, I walked home in the snow, hung out with my roommates, made a delicious dinner, watched New Girl and passed out!
Saturday: I was up early and feeling ready for my run club time trial…a 12K run, but only 10k was timed. I had a great run and chatted to a new friend, Natalie, the entire time and managed to finish in 53 minutes! After my run (in the rain), I headed home, showered and went to yet another apartment viewing…this one as tiny but cute, but she was interviewing lots of people so I don’t find out until Monday or Tuesday! Oy vey! After the apartment viewing and trekking across the city, it was already dark and dinner time! However, because of my run that morning, I decided a good stretch might be a good idea so I went back for another 75 minutes of yoga! While heading home I stopped into a few local food shops and picked up some goodies for dinner…favourite new find? Vegan, gluten-free coconut milk sorbet. INCREDIBLE. (I may have eaten the entire pint by the time the night was over!)
Sunday: Up early again but this time to work out then work at Brooklyn Bodyburn! I attended the 8:30 class, led by Tracy and was shaking in muscle-quivering delight the entire class. I have ZERO glutes and Tracy made us work our glutes EXTRA hard. Ouch. After class, I worked at the studio until 11:30 then went to ANOTHER apartment viewing (still waiting to hear back from the owners) then took an hour train to Queens for the Winter Food Market. After the food market, I came home, snuggled with Ghostie and headed to a coffee shop to get some much-needed work done!
How was your weekend? Did it snow or rain where you live? Any apartment-hunting tips?
Now, I’m off to my BELOVED internship!
