Hello, hello!
I am writing this at 3:49AM…perhaps that should hint at my stress level/need to focus on MARVELOUS things. Why the stress? Well, on Friday, I received a phone call informing me that my apartment that I was moving into on Thursday was no longer available AND that my department at the company that I intern for had been dissolved the previous day, taking their clients with them. Oh. What a way to start the weekend, right? Yes, far from ideal but I am happy to say that considering the circumstances, I feel relatively good. At the moment, my biggest concern is finding a place to live, since the end of January is THIS week and I also have school to be focused on! Oh vey!
That is why I can’t sleep at the moment and have just decided to wake up, write this post, and continue to plan apartment viewings across the city for the entire day, since I have class for the entire rest of the week. Anyway, I’ll be sure to keep you posted with the chaos of the house hunt but in the meantime, here are the marvelous things, keeping me at least somewhat sane. Also, just think of how hilarious this will all be in a few short weeks? Like the amount of crazy people who I’ve met and considered living with is already starting to become comical. Praise for a sense of humour.
Happy Monday!

Mondays are MARVELOUS again! So much gratitude to Katie for hosting this event.

Last night, after viewing yet another apartment, I treated myself to pistachio and toasted marshmallow froyo. Well deserved:)

When I got home last night, my dad had sent me this photo to cheer me up. Thanks, Dad! I hope you all appreciate my Princess Jasmine outfit that my mom MADE for me, that I was thoroughly obsessed with for the following couple of years…and NO, it was not reserved for Halloween.

As much as I didn’t think I would survive running in freezing weather, after experiencing frost bite during first year of university during half-marathon training, I did survive and ran 8k in the park on Saturday morning!!

After my morning run, I spent the rest of my day discovering the Upper West Side and loving every moment.

Yesterday, I went to Beacon, in upstate New York to visit The Dia Beacon, an old Nabisco labeling factory that was transformed into a massive art gallery with the benefit of giving these masterpieces the space that they deserve.

Yesterday, I viewed an apartment on one of Brooklyn’s tree-lined streets with all of the historic Brownstones. It was a great walk.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity of going gallery-hopping in Chelsea. Some work I loved, some was not for me, but it was incredible to be in such a gallery-dense neighbourhood.

Mmm, here I am sipping a detoxifying yet sweet drink that I’ve been enjoying lately. Recipe to come:)

One of my lovely friends and I have been going out for lots of lunches recently and last week we ventured to Chinatown and feasted on hot noodle soup with dumplings and coconut honey buns for dessert…all for under $10. Chinatown is definitely marvelous.
Okay, that’s what’s marvelous in my week, how is yours? I’d love the distraction from the chaotic house-hunt to hear about your lovely lives!
lots of soon-to-be homeless love,
the cc
