MORNING!
Healthy habits : Last week I shared my food healthy habit but today I wanted to share my fitness healthy habit. I learned my newest fitness philosophy from my much-loved Heather who likes to say exercise shmexercise. …by this I mean not take exercise so black and white and RESTRICTIVE…listen to your body, and do what it is telling you, but be sure to move everyday. Most importantly never resent exercise or fitness programs but make them work for you and be grateful for the ability to do them….next time you don’t want to move remember a time when you were sick and thinking to yourself how much it sucked and how you wished you could workout or go for a walk. Attitude is everything.
With that in mind here’s a great and easy workout that I discovered from The Splattered Apron, it’s effective, quick and requires no equipment…what’s stopping you?!
Also, in keeping with a tasty recipe to have on-hand this week, I highly recommend using some seasonal apples in a fruity-fibre filling salad. Here’s my recipe inspiration:
Check out this salad that I have adapted from here:
Arriba Apple Salad
Ingredients:
- Jicama, sliced
- Carrots, sliced
- Apple, diced
- Cilantro or Basil for those who don’t enjoy Cilantro, minced
- Red Onion, sliced

- Celery, sliced
- Walnuts or Pecans
Directions:

- Place lettuce and celery in salad dish and top with vinegar mix and walnuts (or pecans). Enjoy!

Day25:Vegan Cooking. Here’s my rosemary and roasted red pepper focaccia bread.

Day 26: A library…here’s a statue from Kings College. I love libraries…do you have a favourite?
I’m off for a big day of studio work!! It will be great, I know but sometimes 8-hours of classes challenges my patience!

PS I’m having dinner tonight at an awesome local restaurant that I will be sure to tell you all about tomorrow.

Hurray for listening to your body when it comes to exercise! I always feel worse if I push myself to workout if I truly don’t want to, so it’s worth it just to take the day off!
That apple salad looks awesome!
Glad to hear that you are on the same page:) …also you should try the salad, it’s tasty!
Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous post girl! My eyes practically filled with tears because I can SEE that you are transforming your mind in regards to exercise and how you do it, what you do, etc. It’s amazing to see and I’m so honored to have played a small part in your journey. You’re a beautiful writer with an amazing soul!
Heather, you are awesome. I relish the time in the morning when I read your blog and am reassured that there are still people, like me, who love life and the simple things in life. Thanks for the daily inspiration and perspective.
