LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN (or more precisely, continue)
Hello! Today has been hectic and stressful but somehow also had pockets of relaxation and adventure. Today, I moved out of dorms and into my friends’ apartment on the other side of town. My day started at 4:45 when I couldn’t sleep and decided to just get up and start my day…I had gone to bed at 1:30 the night before so the early start was unexpected. I had to do some last-minute packing, eat breakfast, clean my fridge and catch a taxi to my friends’ apartment by SEVEN am. I did do it all in time but was greeted with rain and not a taxi in sight that was willing to pick me up. I was carrying SIX pieces of luggage, which weighted over 100 lbs and I was functioning on three hours of sleep so the circumstances were less than ideal. Long story short, I did make it across town on A BUS. IN RUSH HOUR. IT WAS AWFUL. However, I survived!
After the bus/moving fiasco I was rewarded with a lovely mid-morning healthy Pat-bing-su date with a friend of mine in a traditional Korean neighbourhood that was the perfect way to forget about the morning.

Pat-bing-su, summer-fruit themed: blackberries, strawberries, nectarines, almonds, sunflower seeds and of course, adzuki beans!
For lunch I met up with another two friends to go for a casual lunch of gimbap and kimchi at a Korean diner. After lunch I had ANOTHER lunch because I had promised a boy in my Sunday School class that he could take me on a ‘date’ to his favourite ttebokki stand. It was so flattered…he even had prepared a sheet of questions in english to ask me, like, “Is it delicious?”, “Would you like some sweet potato?”, “Are you hungry?” etc… I LOVED it. After the tasty street food I walked him to his art lesson and he sadly said goodbye.
NOW I am (sleepily) sitting in my friends’ apartment, finishing my checklist for tomorrow’s departure for KUALA LUMPUR!!! I take off at 5:15 tomorrow morning and will be taking the sunday to the airport. I cannot believe that I am going and am so excited to just take it all in. I have VERY little planned and hope to listen to my body each day and see what it’s craving, however, I WILL make it to the Batu Caves!
Okay, I’ve got some sleep to catch up on but since I won’t be bringing my laptop with me I may be MIA for SEVEN days but look forward to lots of pictures and recipes when I return!
wish me good luck!
